I watched this on the keynote, and I cannot say how pleased I am to see the old product intros back! I thought this keynote was one of the best actually, because I think Steve is going to retire shortly, and this keynote confirmed it. Ask me for more if you want a better explanation...

This will be my first Macbook. I will not be buying it on the first day. I will wait a while and see more reviews just to make sure it's worth my money.

josh h, how did this keynote confirm his retirement?
October 15, 2008 | Unregistered Commenterharryps3
@Harryps3

i think it started at WWDC. he had EVERYONE else talk about the iPhone and mobile me and he just released the 3G.

yesterday EVERYONE else was talking but jobs until the release of the new laptops. he wanted to show that apple isnt just him. its everyone.

Ok. This keynote (among other recent ones) pretty much confirms that he will retire because:

Notice that he has stopped playing the "star" of the keynotes. This is because that he probably wants his fans to get rid of the notion that he does everything at Apple. He doesn't! To be honest, the other presenters probably have a bigger impact on the product than he did. He isn't the think-tank, designer, customer support, or engineer. He is a figurehead and a charismatic presenter. He wants to make it easier for us fans when he does retire. The culture in Apple isn't Steve Jobs. It is everyone else together.
